By Saturday, I Still Like My Job

I am working right now for a publisher as a feature’s writer while I continue to create art, work on my project and contemplate what to do with my novel…. I keep thinking that I will rewrite my novel and then I think it would just be fun to make it into another internet project.. I already podcasted it.. I was rewriting it to make it focus on depression but maybe I should just leave it alone…. I have been thinking about this because I like writing for the magazine.

I think of each of my articles as a short story… I write six of them a month and I love it.  I love chatting with people and getting quotes from them.  I love taking the quotes and the research and weaving them into a story that people will read.  I really enjoy the whole process.. even when the editor kicks it back and says do it over or chops things out to make room for an ad… (those ads keep things going)

I asked the universe (God) for a job where I didn’t have to be in a box… where I could wander around and write and that is exactly what I got..  This job gives me the freedom to explore the world and pays me to do it.  I recently was offered an editor job but didn’t take it.  I would love to be an executive editor for a magazine (that is more strategic) but sitting in an office fixing what other people write just isn’t as much fun as thinking up things for them to write or writing it yourself.  I guess I just want to skip over that editor job and run the magazine :-)

On a different note, I dreamed yesterday that I had a piece of metal stuck in my finger and when I got on the elevator my finger got stuck in the door.  when we opened the elevator the metal came out and people wondered how it got in my finger… elevator going up is a good sign.. I am not sure about the piece of metal coming out of my finger!

Batman’s Car in Singapore the new Nissan GT R

Nissan GT R spotted in Singapore dressed up as Batman\'s car

It doesn’t look as cool here as it did on the road yesterday.  I was driving back to work and I waited behind this car at the light.  The car had the batman emblem where the company logo would be and I wondered if Batman was making a car….  The car was painted black and looked awesome in black… with the silver trim…

I sang Batman all the way home.. Thank God no one was in the car with me.. that is a pretty boring thing to hear for ten minutes but a fun way to head back to work.

The Emerald Tablet

The Emerald Tablet

The Emerald Tablet is one of the most revered documents in the Western World, and its Egyptian author, Hermes Trismegistus, has become synonymous with ancient wisdom. His tablet contains an extremely succinct summary of what Aldous Huxley dubbed the “Perennial Philosophy,” a timeless science of soul that keeps popping up despite centuries of effort to suppress it. The basic idea is that there exists a divine or archetypal level of mind that determines physical reality, and individuals can access that realm through direct knowledge of God.

Contribute Helps Organize the Universe

I have been exploring Adobe software the last few days and today I decided to start using contribute to help organize my websites.  The software allows me to add information to websites and blogs without actually going through the hassle of logging into each site.  I am looking forward to seeing what else it can do.

When I am not exploring software, I am exploring the idea of a life cycle.

This week I had a dream where I was given a ticket to go through the toll booth but my mother was not.  I looked at the person selling the tickets and wanted to buy tickets for my family but was told they had to wait.  I sat at the entrance with my green ticket and decided to go back and sit with my family until they were ready for their tickets.  My mother asked for my ticket but I told her that she could not have it.  You had to pay for it and they were not ready to sell her a ticket.

I woke up from this dream and emailed my mother.  She emailed back that she had a similar dream.

What does that mean?  I have been researching into this topic.  What are the cycles in life?  Why do we have them?  Are they bad?  I have been digging and digging and finally know that we stay on earth until we are ready to go to heaven and it is not just one lifetime.

The thing is that when we are born, we forget everything from prior lives so we are not immediately aware of the things that we need to concentrate on to release ourselves from our time on earth.   Many people get distracted by the struggles of living to pay attention to why they are on earth.  Others do not believe in rebirth or think that belonging to a specific religion makes them safe.  That is not how it works.  If you do not figure out why you are here, you will keep coming back until you do.  you are stuck like a broken record.

I found out that I am not stuck but that my mother is and she acknowledges that there is something but she does not know what it is.   I know she is starting to face some things because for the first time in my life, she came to visit me .  Not physically but spiritually.  It was a little unnerving but for the first time, I asked a spirit to show their face and she did.

Singapore Sun

It was a hot day today. I forgot how hot the days become when the sun shines and there are no clouds for relief. Driving in a taxi, I yawned and the taxi driver said “I see your tired” Surprised I apologized. I didn’t realize he was paying attention. “All the people complain about the rain but the rain keeps the heat away” he said knowingly. I agree. I would take a rainy and cloudy German day over this sweltering heat. It is the heat that makes it hard to breathe and takes away my energy.

Luckily, I was inside for part of the day. I stayed inside rewriting my book which is the first installation of the D words. I am happy with my progress. I have 2500 words to hand over to the editor tomorrow. She read the first draft and we are going to talk about the change in direction. I decided to make everything happen in one neighborhood in Berlin.

I like what I wrote today.. here is a little bit of what I wrote:

Walking down the street, Isabella looked at Berlin and realized that it was not an urbane city. Graffiti covered buildings like tattered robes and the air surrounded her with the residue of burning coal. Getting on the train, Isabella headed towards Mitte in East Berlin. Watching the scenery pass by in shadows, Isabella looked at the gray concrete apartment buildings and felt the urge to wipe them clean and see what colors were hiding underneath the grime.

  • Standing on the street corner, Isabella shivered and wondered if it was just from the cold. The neighborhood was under construction and gentrification was in full swing. Unlike the Decaying bullet holed walls of many of the older buildings, her apartment building was new, smooth and empty. No Story. No Memories. No baggage. She liked that. Looking into her purse, she dug out the keys to unlock the door to her new life.

  • Opening the heavy front door, Isabella Walked into the entryway and bumped into a tall gangly man with spiked hair and weathered skin. “I’m sorry” Isabella said as she moved farther to the right to let him pass with his bike. Stopping, the man smiled at Isabella exposing a chipped front tooth. “You’re the new tenant aren’t you? My name is Franz” said the man as he let go of his dilapidated bike and extended his hand. “Hello, my name is Isabella” she said as Franz gripped her hand tightly. Wondering if he would let go, she started to panic a bit. “You have the whitest teeth I have ever seen,” said Franz staring at her mouth. Realizing that she was holding her breath, she reminded herself to breathe and to stay calm. Not knowing if this man was rational and not knowing what to say, Isabella nodded her head and pulled her hand out of his grip. “What are you doing here? Franz asked as he bent down to roll up his pant leg.” Isabella tilted her head. That really was the question wasn’t it. “I think I am going to teach English” Said Isabella. “Teaching English? Do you teach private lessons? I could really use some English lessons. My English is horrible.” Thinking that his English was better than his manners, Isabella gave Franz her business card. “Just give me a call when you would like to start,” said Isabella. “Oh right away said Franz but not right away. I am on my way to meet with my girlfriend.” Wondering what kind of girl would date him, Isabella watched as Franz maneuvered his bike out of the open door and waved goodbye.
